In September 2023, the container coffee shop in Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan - consisting of one container
On a stretch of coastline in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan, a 40-foot shipping container has been brilliantly transformed into "TO GO CAFE." With its distinctive industrial style, it creates a poetic scene alongside the emerald sea, blue sky, grassy hills, and islands.

Originally a steel container for carrying cargo, it has been reinvented by the designer's ingenuity into a vibrant coffee space. The white container's exterior is simple and bold, harmonizing with the warmth of a wooden deck platform, with outdoor tables and chairs arranged here and there. Embraced by the meadow and the ocean, the ruggedness of industry and the gentleness of the seaside are masterfully balanced. The glass door clearly shines with the "TO GO CAFE" sign; open it, and the aroma of coffee wafts out; step outside, and you're greeted by a magnificent view of mountains and sea - in the distance, a bridge snakes toward an island, cloud shadows drift across the clear water's surface, while cars in the parking lot and roadside cones add a lively, human touch to the landscape.

Here, you can grab a cup of coffee and set off on a journey, or linger awhile, letting your gaze wander between the industrial box and the natural mountain and sea, feeling the dialogue between iron and greenery, the blend of coffee scent and sea breeze. This container cafe is not only a distinctive check-in spot on the Yamaguchi coast but also a haven where travelers can rest their bodies and minds - using the most "hardcore" vessel to gently embrace the softest seaside charm and coffee time.
