In July 2023, the container hotel in Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan - consisting of 6 containers
In a lush, green corner of Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan, pastel-colored shipping containers are stacked and intertwined like building blocks from a children's song. This is a distinctive hotel project created by combining six containers.

The two-story containers, painted in shades of pink and yellow, are connected by a light blue steel staircase, serving as a visual focal point. The green, brown, light blue, and light purple containers are arranged side by side or stacked on top of one another, with a concrete foundation firmly supporting these colorful modules. Water and electrical lines, as well as air conditioner outdoor units, are neatly arranged, exuding the straightforward simplicity of industrial style while concealing a meticulous attention to functionality.

Stepping inside the container, the loft-style guest room features a compact integration of a kitchen area and bunk beds, while large glass windows frame the blue sky and green trees like a vivid painting. Near the wooden table in the living area, opening the sliding doors allows the breeze from the garden to rush in, carrying the scent of plants.
These converted container buildings serve as Instagram-worthy landmarks amidst the natural scenery of Yamaguchi Prefecture. At the same time, through the comfortable experience offered within their compact spaces and the wisdom of sustainable architecture, they bring new meaning to cultural tourism accommodations.
